Tax Transaction “Acordo Paulista” is regulated by the PGE/SP

At the end of last year, Law No. 17,843/2023 was published, establishing new models of transactions for tax and non-tax debts before State of São Paulo Treasury. These transaction models are referred to as the “Acordo Paulista”.

Based on the legal authorization, State of São Paulo’s Attorney General (PGE/SP) has regulated the settlement of disputes involving enrolled debts through Resolution PGE No. 6, dated February 6, 2024, and published the first notice for the “Acordo Paulista”.

In this initial notice, taxpayers meeting the specified conditions can negotiate their enrolled debts in up to 120 installments, obtain up to 100% discount on late payment interests, and a 50% discount on the remaining debt, including any fines, interests, and legal charges.

Taxpayers can join the transaction outlined in this first notice from February 7, 2024, until 11:59 PM on April 29, 2024.

Our tax team is available to provide clarification and guidance on the discussed topic.
