L.O. Baptista Advogados has just received two heavyweights from the market – Silvia Rodrigues Pachikoski and Tonico Monteiro da Silva, names widely recognized in the area of Arbitration and which contribute to raising the office’s case record track to 384. The initiative is part of the recently announced corporate litigation area redesign, with the purpose of transforming it into a large Dispute Resolution area
The two arrive to contribute to the multidisciplinary approach that is beginning to be implemented by the firm and which, within a more modern and comprehensive concept, connects Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation to the competences of specialists from different areas of Business Law, which the firm offers.
Their trajectories speak for themselves. With almost 30 years of experience and performance in several arbitration procedures, national and international, both as an arbitrator and as a lawyer, Silvia is a reference in the area. She is vice president of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Federal Senate’s Committee of Jurists to amend the Arbitration Law, among other credentials.
Tonico Monteiro da Silva, in turn, is recognized for his extensive experience in arbitration and judicial litigation, with a special focus on issues related to construction law, insurance and commercial or corporate disputes. Successfully represented Brazilian clients in arbitration proceedings in the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore and Japan. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – CiArb and secretary and director of Education for the Brazilian chapter of CiArb – Brazil
In this movement, the Corporate and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) area of the firm also has the experience of André Staffa Neto, who, along with Silvia, embraced the decision to move to the L.O. Baptista. A very welcome reinforcement and in line with the firm’s plans to expand other areas of Corporate Law.
With the arrival of Silvia and Tonico, the Dispute Resolution area now has seven partners, including the recently promoted Ulisses Simões and André Menossi, and partner Fabricio Polido, acting in mediation and disputes aimed at the Innovation and Technology market.
