L.O Baptista attends events about the Belt and Road Initiative in China

In late April, Beijing hosted the 2nd Belt and Road summit, which was attended by government leaders from around the world. The three-day forum was meant to promote the initiative and to discuss the main challenges for the future.

Running parallel to the summit, our partner Luiz Eduardo Vidal Rodrigues participated in a forum between April 25 and 28 with executives and leaders from more than 150 countries, as well as Chinese Authorities. During the conference, which addressed issues related to the conflicts and opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative, Vidal spoke on Mediation in Brazil, Intellectual Property Protection and the Bankruptcy and Judicial Recovery Process.

In addition to Beijing, the forum had agendas in Xi’An, a city known for harboring Terracotta warriors and for having been the main Chinese city during the Tang Dynasty. The city has also a Free Trade Zone, located in an enterprise that aims to welcome national or foreign companies that seek to promote international trade and development of new technologies.

During the conference, a cooperation and promotion agreement was signed with the Xi’An Association of Lawyers in the presence of local authorities. In addition to our office, representatives of India, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Ecuador are signatories to this agreement.
