A company’s brand goes beyond the simple concept of a logo or name – it represents the essence of the values, mission and vision that it communicates to the market. When the brand is supported by effective corporate governance practices, it becomes a pillar of credibility and a powerful attractor for stakeholders, ensuring the strengthening of the company’s market position and longevity. Corporate governance encompasses practices and processes aimed at ensuring transparency, corporate responsibility, integrity and fairness, playing a crucial role in how the brand is perceived. Companies that adopt effective governance practices convey an image of transparency, integrity and trustworthiness to the market, which directly reflects as a synonym of quality and ethics, resulting in higher consumer engagement.
On November 5, 2024, the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) highlighted a significant advancement for corporate governance in small businesses: a notable 52.9% increase in the adoption of the practices. The implementation of effective governance in these companies not only strengthens their internal structure, but also demonstrates a commitment to transparency and accountability.
Recently, the results of the 2nd National Survey on the Impact of Public Relations in the Innovation Market, conducted by MOTIM, were released: “91% of investors believe that brands that communicate their value proposition effectively to the market are the ones most likely to receive investments.” In 2022, a large auditing firm’s research indicated that businesses applying solid governance principles have 30% more chances of attracting institutional investors. According to the 2023 Corporate Governance Report from another major independent auditing firm, companies that adopt advanced governance practices can more efficiently mitigate reputational risks, minimizing negative impacts on their brand. These data underscore the importance of corporate governance at all stages of a company’s growth.
In a scenario where companies need to stand out not only for the quality of their products or services, but also for the trust they convey to the market, corporate governance emerges as a key factor. In addition to improving internal management, ensuring business sustainability and attracting clients, partners and talent, corporate governance is crucial for building a strong, respected and valued brand.
Investing in robust and effective governance practices, involving transparency, accountability and ethics, is essential for companies seeking to solidify their brand and secure their position in the global market. Corporate governance is a fundamental strategy for long-term success.
