Due to the recent popularization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions and the large-scale commercialization of platforms that use machine learning and neural networks, there has been a significant increase in the content generated by these platforms. This content has become highly specialized, aiming to deliver better services and information that meet various costumer’s needs, including in the field of law.
The use of AI in legal matters began in controversy, with cases emerging worldwide of legal filings containing incorrect or even false information. Currently, the scene that surrounds the use of AI in law is changing, and tech companies have already developed various options for legal platforms with different purposes, aiming for greater efficiency in the routine of legal professionals. For example, some platforms on the market can be integrated with legal filings management systems, aiding in meeting deadlines and controlling diligences, or platforms focused on jurisprudential consultations, integrating courts from all over Brazil and greatly reducing response times; or even platforms that aid in due diligence, with customized searches of standard certificates.
Another solution that has been gaining prominence is the integration of legal chatbots, which allow for quick answers to basic legal inquiries, facilitating the routine of legal service providers. AIs can be instructed usimg laws, regulations, doctrines, practical cases, and everything that a lawyer considers necessary for them to perform their functions.
AI should be seen as an enhancement tool, not a replacement for traditional legal work. Lawyers have unique skills, such as the ability to interpret laws and regulations within specific contexts and offer personalized advice, which AI cannot fully replicate. Legal reasoning involves complexities that go beyond the current reach of AI.
The use of these platforms should be seen as a complement to legal practice, whether to optimize processes, meet deadlines, or even perform predictive analyses, identifying trends and providing legal strategies, aiming to enhance the lawyer’s day-to-day activities.
Thus, the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the legal sector has shown great potential to transform legal practice. Despite initial controversies and concerns about accuracy and ethics, AI platforms are evolving to offer solutions that optimize the efficiency and accuracy of legal services, allowing lawyers to focus on more assertive and faster solutions.
As technology advances, it is essential that legal professionals continue to adapt and explore these innovations, ensuring that AI implementation is carried out ethically and efficiently, benefiting both professionals and clients.
