L.O. Baptista Advogados has bolstered its technology practice with a partner hire.

Fabrício Bertini Pasquot Polido joined the firm on 10 March, taking the firm’s partner count to 22.

Polido focuses on litigation and arbitration involving innovation and new technologies, intellectual property, data security and privacy, internet and digital trade law.

He has experience helping international and local clients implementing and updating global corporate policies, and in hearings and public consultations held in Brazilian courts.

Polido had been collaborating with the firm as an advisor. “His solid legal background and active work in providing legal consultancy to IT companies and social platforms were key factors for us hiring Fabrício as a partner,” says technology co-head Esther Jerussalmy Cunha.

Prior to joining L.O. Baptista, Polido held a senior lecturer position at Minas Gerais University, where he taught private international, intellectual property, international procedural and internet law.

LO Baptista’s technology practice is staffed by Cunha and three other partners: Renata Veloso, Cássia Monteiro and André Espírito Santo.

The firm is best known for its disputes, trade and administrative practices.
